March 1, 2014....I turned 31 (sigh). We went to Nashville and took Hayden to her first Predators hockey game. We had sooooo much fun! Hayden really liked it but I do think a full hockey is a little much for a 3 year old. She was getting a little antsy by the 3rd period. We stopped in Clarksville and ate an amazing steak at Long Horn. My parents and grandparents met us there for dinner. I will have to say that this birthday was perfect! We may have to make it a tradition :)
So I have been fairly active and regular in Zumba the past few weeks. I really love it! My plan is to go three to four days a week and change my lifestyle so that I can drop a lot of weight before my Florida trip in June. I figure if I announce it on my blog then I will have to keep it updated and let people know how I do. So I'm pretending that this week is my first week and I'm going to hopefully chime in with my weightloss every Monday. (That's the plan at least). Plus my 31st birthday is coming up and I would say it's now or never if I want to lose weight because I'm not getting any younger.
So the baby shower for my friends daughter was this weekend and I finally finished everything. I think the cake and cupcakes turned out pretty good. They seemed to like them which is all that matters :). Here are the pictures:
So I have been preparing for a baby shower that is in a week and I finished a few things last night. I have made the Denver Broncos diaper cake and it turned out AMAZING!
I also went ahead and started on all of the fondant ducks that I needed for the cake and cupcakes. They turned out pretty cute....can't wait for the finished product!!
If you notice my daughter had to help.....so I gave her some fondant and put pink coloring in it. She did a great job get the coloring mixed into the fondant!! So she told me to make it look like a duck and I did :) Hayden was very helpful through this whole process....she helped put the brown shredded paper on the diaper cake as well.
February has already become quite eventful. We have had snow and the schools have been closed. Hayden and I spent most of this time hanging out, crafting, etc. Sooooo I decided to start on my huge baby shower project. A friend of mine asked me to do some stuff for her daughter's shower and I'm super excited! Last night I finished the Advice Cards she wanted in a duck theme. They turned out so cute! I will be posting more as I finish them :)
As bad as I've always wanted to blog....I have truly slacked on updating anything. So it's a new year and I'm going to be more serious about this and keeping it up to date. With that said....I'm not going to be able to update this for a couple of months....JUST PLAYIN'. My last post was in October of 2013 so a lot has happened since then. My daughter turned 3 and had a princess birthday party. It's truly amazing the difference I've seen in her since she's turned 3. She has become so much more understanding and doesn't throw fits as much. It's almost like the terrible twos are serious business and she finally got over it. Her party was amazing. She had so much fun (as did I).
I decided to make her cakes which consisted of a castle and a cinderella cake. The cinderella cake was just for her and she loved it! We also had a cardboard castle that I colored for her. The castle was a HUGE hit. The kiddos LOVED it and played it in the whole party!
Last night Hayden told me that "Hiccups is like Harry and Hayden....it has an H"....she is 2 years old (almost 3 years old). Wow.....she is constantly amazing me. She also wanted to go to school today as Cinderella. I told her she had to wait until Halloween (tomorrow) to go to school as Cinderella. She thought that was crazy. She is so excited about halloween and trick or treating.
I have decided that each week I'm going to blog about a specific theme. Anything from funny stories, the past, crafts, work, etc. I wasn't sure how I was going to blog because not every day is entertaining. So I will start a new one every Monday.
I will post pics of Halloween tomorrow because we will not only have stuff at Hayden's school but also that night (if it doesn't rain). We are also going to my cousin Alyssa's championship volleyball game tomorrow night which Hayden is the biggest fan. She has her pom-poms and her t-shirt supporting Alyssa's number. I will definitely keep you updated. :)
So I wanted to go ahead and tell you that I probably won't blog much on the weekends. They are usually pretty busy and family oriented (which is extremely important to me).
This weekend was my cousin Alyssa's homecoming dance. She was BEAUTIFUL!!!! She ended up having about 25 kids come to her house for pictures....needless to say I stayed for the few that I knew and left. Hayden loved seeing all the girls dressed up. She said they were princesses....they definitely looked the part.
On Sunday a realtor showed our house. We have had it listed for about 2 weeks. Talk about a roller coaster ride...it can be discouraging having your house shown with no bites! Our main problem is steep stairs...most people don't like them. Although, I have seen a ton of NEW houses with stairs just as steep as our if not worse. Hopefully someone can look past that because it is beautiful!!
I was born in Paducah, KY in 1983. So yes I'm 30 years old and no I don't need to be reminded of that :). I spent a good part of my childhood in Louisville (while my mom was attending medical school) before coming back to Paducah, in fifth grade, to stay.
Now to speed things up...I went to college and got my BS in Business Management/Marketing in 2005. I met my husband in 2006 and we married in 2008. We had our daughter, Hayden, on New Years Eve 2010 (hence the title of my page and domain). In February 2013, I got my dream job in the school system and I love coming to work everyday!
That is my background. So don't be surprised if I tell you crazy stories about my past or projects that I have already completed. I just wanted to introduce myself before I started throwing around life as I know it!
My name is Lauren. I have wanted to blog for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge. I am happily married and have a daughter, who is the light of my life. I enjoy crafting, scrapbooking, baking and other random things. I figure this would be a good place for me to share my projects and funny stories (especially of my family). I hope if nothing else, this blog will entertain you to some degree.
